Project Graduation is the last memory that your student will have of their HS career – please consider getting involved! Together we can create a memorable event for our children.

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, June 15th at 6:00pm in the library at the High School for the Class of 2016 Project Graduation board to turn over the reins and books to a new set of officers that will plan to run Project Graduation for the Class of 2017.

It costs about $20,000 to put on the event, and ALL of that money comes from fundraising and donations.  It takes a year to plan and organize the event, so you need to start now.

The current board consists of a president, 2 vice presidents, a secretary and a treasurer.  We need to have people to fill all of those positions, or at least some when we leave the meeting on June 15th, as the old board will need to turn over the check book to the new officers.

As the school year winds down, many of your graduating students have decided where they will be going to college this fall. But many others are still on the fence. If your students are still undecided, we encourage them to explore SMCC and all the great things we have to offer.

Students Can Apply for Free:

  • During our On-the-Spot Acceptance Days, from 8 a.m-8 p.m. at both our South Portland and Midcoast Campus in Brunswick
    • Thursday, June 23
    • TuesdayJuly 19
    • WednesdayAugust 17
What are On-the-Spot Acceptance Days?
On-the-Spot Acceptance Days are the perfect opportunity for students to take care of everything they need, at one time and in one place, to be accepted to the College.

During On-the-Spot Acceptance Days students can:
  • Complete their application. We’ll help them with questions and waive the application fee.
  • Take their placement tests. Testing is available from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Start the FAFSA process. Financial Aid staff will be available to help answer their questions.
  • Sign up for New Student Orientation. They will register for classes at their orientation session.
During On-the-Spot Acceptance Days we ask that students bring:
  • Proof of their high school graduation (final high school transcript, diploma or GED)
No appointment is necessary! They can stop in anytime during these days from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
