The MSAD 6 District Curriculum Committee is looking for two student representatives. The committee provides input to the school administration on changes in courses, programs, and instructional practices for all of the schools in our district. The committee meets 4-6 times per year in the afternoons. Student voices are important to have at the table when we make decisions about the direction of our schools. Freshmen Class Officer Elections will be held next Thursday, the 21st. Please pick up nomination papers in the front office or room #306 if you are interested in running for an office.
Attention anyone who is interested in Academic Decathlon, there will be a mandatory meeting after school on Thursday, September 21st in Mrs. Droggitis’s room at 2:10. If you attended the meeting at the end of last school year we would like you to come to this meeting too, as important information regarding the fast approaching season will be goin out. National Constitution Week:
The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is as follows. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
There are 5 freedoms in the 1st Amendment. The first is religion. The 1st Amendment guarantees thatAmericans can practice any religion they choose or non at all. It also prevents the government from establishing an official religion.
If you have a block 5 study hall or early dismissal, please consider volunteering with the Teen Trendsetters. This is a mentoring program where High School students read and do fun activities with elementary students at Buxton Center during block 5 once a week. Plus it’s a fun way to get community service hours! See Ms. Wade in Student Services for more information or an application.
Senior pictures and quotes are due no later than October 27th. If you need someone to take your senior picture, check in with Mrs. Templeton Bush in Room ½.
