Celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month

Celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month

Here at BEHS, we welcome everyone. It is important for the LGBTQ community to know that they are safe and welcomed. The LGBTQ community has allies and safe space at BEHS.
  • Pride Month is a time to celebrate our accomplishments.
  • Pride Month commemorates our history.
  • Pride Month helps us celebrate our sexual gender and identities in public.
  • Pride Month reminds us that we still have a long way to go.
Quotes:
  • "Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" - Ernest J Gaines
  • "If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door." - Harvey Milk
  • "Openness may not completely disarm prejudice, but it's a good place to start." - Jason Collins
  • “There’s nothing wrong with you. There’s a lot wrong with the world you live in” - Chris Colfer

Note to Underclassmen

A Note to Underclassmen!

Dear Families,

As we are nearing the end of the trimester, we want to say, “Thank you!” Thank you so much for your patience, flexibility and support during this very challenging time of virtual learning. We have nearly made it to the end and are so proud of all of our students’ hard work and dedication. This was not an easy trimester, and we recognize that providing online learning was not ideal. Despite all of this, we made it through!

In this letter, you will find some very important information about student laptop drop-off, yearbook pick-up, and report cards.

Laptop Drop-Off/Yearbook Pick-Up
Beginning on Thursday, June 11th, students will have the opportunity to pick up their yearbooks. In return, students must drop off the following items:
  • Laptop
  • Laptop Case (or $15)
  • Laptop Charger (or $25)
  • Textbooks
  • School Calculators
  • Library Books
  • Outstanding Library Fees
  • Outstanding Lunch Fees
Drop-off/Pick-up will be from 1-6 on Thursday, June 11th and 9-2 on Friday, June 12th.

Additional Payment Information
If students do not have their laptop, case, or charger, there will be a fee. If students are unable to return their cases, they will be charged a $15 fee. Students who do not return their chargers will be charged a $25 fee. Please come prepared with either cash or a check made out to BEHS.  We understand that paying for the above items may not be possible for all families during this difficult time. If your family is having financial difficulty please contact Mr. Johnson - mijohnson@bonnyeagle.org.

How to Arrive
We are going to do this trade-off as a drive-through on Thursday, June 11th from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM and on Friday, June 12th from 9 AM to 2:00 PM. All cars should use the student parking entrance to enter and must leave through the front entrance of the high school. Please drive up to the front circle of BEHS and remain in your car. We request that you wear a face mask. All of our staff will also be wearing face masks. You will give us your name and all of your items that you are returning. If you ordered a yearbook, we will bring that to you. We ask for your patience. We will do our very best to streamline this and make it as efficient as possible; however, please expect that you will have to wait in a line in your car.

Grades
Students are expected to turn in their final assignments by Friday, June 5th. Students who need additional time may continue to turn in work up until June 12th. These students should contact their teachers and keep in close communication with them throughout this remediation period. Students can view their grades at any time through their StudentVue account on Synergy. Students and families will be able to view students’ report cards on Synergy on June 18th. The report card will show the student’s final score in the class as well as either a “P” for Pass or an “IE” for Insufficient Evidence. Students will pass and earn credit for the classes in which they earn at least a 2.5 or above. They will not receive credit for any classes in which they have an overall score less than 2.5.

Note: On students’ transcripts, the number grades will not be reported even though they show on the report card. Students will only see the “P” or “IE” next to each class on their transcript.

Next Year’s Course Assignments
Due to the ever-changing regulations with COVID-19, next year’s course schedules will not be available to students until August. We will send communication when they are updated in ParentVue. We apologize for any inconvenience. AP teachers or other designated honors classes may directly contact their assigned students for next year with any applicable summer work.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Your BEHS Administrators
