           UNIFIED BASKETBALL TRYOUTS WILL BE

THURSDAY JANUARY 5 AT 2:30 IN THE GYMNASIUM

Did you know that 3.6% of high school students who took the 2021 Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey reported that they were transgender?

Sunday, November 20, 2022 was the Transgender Day of Remembrance

It is a day to commemorate transgender people who have lost their lives or been the victim of anti-transgender violence. This day has been around since 1999 when Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a transgender advocate, organized a vigil to honor the death of Rita Hester.  Hester was one of many victims of anti-transgender violence.

Join the Civil Rights Team as we remember and honor transgender people everywhere.  Take time to learn more about them.

Is there a job or career you are interested in but have no idea how to get started? This year, JMG is able to offer ALL juniors and seniors a paid internship experience at the location of their choosing.  The program is open to upperclassmen wanting to try a new job, or want to take a position of decision making at their current job.  See Mr. Johnson in room 103 in the old wing for details.

The Student Council will be holding their annual fall blood drive on Monday, November 14, from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm in the gymnasium.

If you are 16 or older and meet certain height and weight requirements, you are eligible to give blood.  16-year-olds will have to have a form signed by a parent to donate.  Forms are available in the main office and in room 205.

Please see Ms. Cyr in room 205 to make an appointment or to get answers to any questions you may have.  Please consider  giving blood as there is a shortage right now and every pint collected has the potential to save three lives.
