Congratulations to the Scots Boys & Girls Outdoor Track Teams who competed at the New England Championships on Saturday in Bangor.  

The Boys were led by Colby Cooper's 5th place 400 meter finish - breaking the school; and the boys 4x400 meter of Colby Cooper, Ethan Kane, Harry Dunne, and Jacob Schmader - who finished 7th also breaking the school record.  Other finishers included Ethan Kane - 8th in the 110 meter hurdles; and Xavier Lemieux - 24th in the 3200 meter.  

On the Girls side Julia Pendleton was 8th in the Long Jump; Addy Thibodeau 9th in the 3200 meter; Marina Violette 19th in the 800 meter; Gwen Catalano 25th in the 3200 meter; and the 4x800 meter of Allie Hesler, Kallie Warner, Gwen Catalano and Marina Violette was 22nd.

If you are interested in the NJROTC which is the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, you may visit the program during block 4 next Tuesday June 6.  If you signed up for that class next year or might be interested in finding out more please pick up a field trip permission form in the office or from a current member.


Congratulations to the Boys Outdoor Track Team who captured their first regional championship in 12 years Friday night at Gorham! The boys were led by SMAA track athlete of the year and athlete of the meet Ethan Kane who won the 110 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, was on the winning 4x100 meter relay team and 2nd place 4x400 meter relay team.

Other key individual performances came from Colby Cooper who won the 400 meter with a school record breaking mark of 49.7 seconds,  Rowan McDonald who won the 1600 meter race walk,  Xavier Lemieux 2nd in the 2 mile, Jacob Schmader 3rd in the 400 meter,  Brandt Abbott was 3rd in the both the long jump and triple jump,  Kaden Sullivan 5th shot put and 6th discus,  and Connor Johnson 5th 300 meter hurdles.

In relays the 4x100 meter relay team of Ethan Kane, Jacob Schmader, Colby Cooper and Emmet St.Pierre ran 43.13 seconds to win and break the league record, the 4x400 meter relay of Colby Cooper, Ethan Kane, Harry Dunne and Jacob Schmader finished 2nd, and the 4x800 meter relay of Harry Dunne, Nate Sirois, Andrew Catalano and Xavier Lemieux was 3rd.

Congratulations to the entire Boys Outdoor Track Team for their efforts and bringing home the first championship in 12 years! The Boys will head to Mt.Ararat on Saturday, June 3 for the Class A State Championship.
