Monday - November 6th

Good evening. This will be a quick update on our progress with bus routes and the George E. Jack School restoration project.  Also, a reminder that this is a 4-day school week as Friday is Veterans’ Day.
I rode the middle/high school bus route this morning to get a look at the Rolling Hills Road situation that has caused us to develop an alternative pick-up and drop- off plan for those students. The wires are still hanging in the roadway and unsafe; therefore, we will continue the following alternative for the Rolling Hills Road bus route.
  • Rolling Hills Rd: Pick up and drop off would be either Whites Bridge and Rolling Hills or Chadbourne Rd and Rolling Hills.
We have received a positive report from Safe Environmental Solutions about the air quality at George E. Jack School. I want to again thank Mr. Ellis and Mr. Sheehan for their quick response to the situation, preventing further building damage and a potential for air quality concerns caused by the water penetration into the building.  They are also working with a roofing contractor to replace the metal roofing, which will hopefully begin soon.  Our plan is to keep the students and staff at the Middle School until the roof work is completed.
Thank you again for your cooperation and patience.
