Wednesday - 11/8/17

The Student Council will be holding their annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 9 at 9:45am in the gym. All staff and students are invited to attend. If you know a veteran, please invite them to our ceremony. Their families are also welcome.

The ceremony will feature the presentation of the colors (flags) by the NJROTC, speeches about Veterans Day, patriotic musical selections played by the band, the “Missing Man Table” and the flag folding ceremony. After the ceremony, there will be a reception in the library for our veteran guests and their families.
Again, this year, we will display pictures of our veterans. If you have a picture of a family member or friend who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces, please bring it in for us to display. Photocopies of the pictures can be made if you are uncomfortable displaying the original. All photos will be returned. The photos can be dropped off in room 306.

The Student Council is selling yellow ribbons that they would like everyone to wear to the ceremony. The ribbons are $1 each and all of the proceeds are going to the Travis Mills Foundation for wounded veterans. This foundation and its retreat serves wounded veterans from all over the United States is located near the Belgrade Lakes here in Maine. Our goal is to raise $500 to send to them.
